Before we can dive right in to price, there are a few other factors which must be considered. The first step in this process is to decide how many pages the web site will have, which can be done by creating a site map. This step is crucial in figuring out the proper layout and design of the site. After the concept is agreed upon by the web site owner and the design company, an image (or concept) of the site design and layout will be created. Specifics such as coloration, images, navigation options and page layout styles will be discussed in detail during this phase, until both parties agree upon what the finished product will ideally look like.

Okay, so what would a general price guideline be?

First, let me give you some examples of what other companies are charging:

• Lastly there are many web designers out there that say they will charge you just $199 or $399 for your very own web site. The problem with many of these options is that they build the site in flash. While these sites look extremely nice, for someone that does not have flash installed on their computer, and more importantly for anyone who is visually impaired that uses screen readers and screen magnification, these cheap $200 - $400 web sites are completely inaccessible, those users won't even be able to read ANY information from these flash based sites, at all!

  Also search engines will not be able to read the content of these web pages. This means that it will be even more difficult for you to get your site noticed, because the spiders/bots that search engines like Google use will not be able to see any important page content, because all of the content is hidden within flash videos.   You can see the inaccessibility of the web site by clicking (in your browser toolbar) View -> Source. This will show you that the only content that is accessible to a search engine's bots is: "You will need a frames capable browser to view this part of the web site. If you don't have a frames capable browser, feel free to browse the HTML version of this site."

  So if your searching the web for any important content that their site has to offer, you won't find it on that page.
